Risebo Gård is a small, family- and pet-friendly countryside campsite surrounded by Swedish nature. Whether you’re staying in a tent, caravan, or campervan, you’ll find the perfect pitch here – completely stress-free and with as few rules as possible. Children love our horses, donkeys, and small animals, and we offer Western riding for all experience levels. Nearby, you’ll find climbing crags and beautiful lakes for swimming. Stay in your own camper or enjoy one of our cozy stugas (traditional Swedish cabins). Risebo stands for peace, space, and simplicity – perfect for families, animal lovers, and nature enthusiasts.

Our 37-hectare property, with forest, meadows, a small dammed stream, and a lake, invites you to explore. Popular activities include pedal go-karts, a large trampoline, table tennis, basketball, and more – children often don’t want to leave. And when Lucas, our horse, strolls across the campsite, it always makes young hearts beat faster.

For horse lovers, our Western riding is a real highlight. We offer guided trail rides in a relaxed atmosphere – perfect for both beginners and experienced riders alike.

Several hiking trails, covering dozens of kilometres, start directly from the farm and are also enjoyed by mountain bikers (XC/cross-country). In the surrounding area, you’ll find numerous lakes and several swimming spots. Climbers appreciate the well-known “Sjöända klätterklippa,” just a few minutes away.

The picnic area with barbecue grills is perfect for relaxed evenings, and in bad weather, our lounge in the old granary offers a warm, dry place to gather. Together with our cabins and campsite, these facilities are also ideal for groups, corporate events, and birthdays. Catering can be arranged on request.

We are dog-friendly, and well-socialized dogs feel at home here. Free, fast Wi-Fi is available throughout the campsite and in all cabins.

If you have any questions or would like to make a booking, simply use the contact form or give us a call!
We look forward to welcoming you!

Important NOTE: Risebo Gård is a working farm. Before your visit, please be aware that there are animals such as horses, dogs, and cats, some of which roam freely – including on the campsite.

A fantastic place for people who love nature; the owners are very friendly. Horses, donkeys, dogs, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs are all present on the farm. We will definitely come back. There's also a sauna.

The most beautiful campsite on our Sweden trip. What started as "I just need a quiet day" turned into five – although it was the off-season. Besides us, there were only two other families there. Everything was very friendly, clean, and welcoming.

We spent a week in Risebo and it was simply wonderful. It's a very relaxing place surrounded by beautiful nature. Pony rides, donkey walks, swimming, excursions to Gamleby and Västervik... everything is possible from Risebo. Everyone who works there is very friendly, and they have delicious bread rolls ready for you every morning at your preferred time. We will definitely be back. Thank you, Daniela and team, for the wonderful time we had with you.

Where should I start, super lovely family who go out of their way to make sure the guests are happy. Lots of free-roaming animals. If you don't like children and animals, if a modern ambience is important and absolute safety is the most important thing, you should probably look for another holiday destination. Anyone who wants to treat their organically grown children to a real adventure holiday, who can deal with scratches and dog drool as a general life risk and who finds 1960s floral wallpaper in the sanitary facilities charming may find their paradise here.

We lived in the Appelgården house. An oasis of peace and quiet right next to the enclosure for rabbits and guinea pigs - a joy for our daughter, as well as the opportunity to ride horses in the evenings. It was just a nice week with the opportunity to experience a lot, to go on many trips to the hustle and bustle of the surrounding area (Astrid Lindgren World etc.) and then to escape from it again. Risebo is a place to wind down, take a breather and recharge your batteries. It was beautiful there! There are hiking trails in the immediate vicinity. We didn't even manage to do all of them. Another reason to come back...
Fantastic place with super lovely people and animals:)

A place where children can simply do whatever they want, great for all age groups. One of the best places we've been with children.

We stayed in Haus Appelgaden for two weeks in May. Had 2 dogs with us and an absolute dream vacation. We had the rabbits and guinea pigs right next to the house, the farm dogs visited us regularly and I would have loved to take all the cats with me. Daniela fulfilled a mega wish for me - I sat on a horse for the first time when I was almost 50 years old. The house is very lovingly furnished and nothing was missing. We really enjoyed the peace and nature and it was our best vacation so far. I'll be 50 next year and we've booked again for this period. It's a wonderful little corner that Daniela and Patrick have created there. And I would have preferred to stay there. Kind regards from Thuringia🥰👍

We only stayed one night because we had to continue our journey... The place is run by friendly and helpful people who make you feel at ease... super recommended for those with children who can live in contact with the farm animals. .. place in which you can position yourself without being in rigid patterns and which certainly facilitates friendships... Congratulations to the owners!

Risebo Gård is for people who simply need balm for the soul as well as for those who like to experience action. Here is something for everyone. From small to large and from young to old. So ATTENTION!! The big grin from everyone there can infect you too! 😉 Rarely met a place full of harmony, sympathy and incredibly great people. Hardly a day went by without the feeling desire to stay there longer. I look forward to seeing you again soon Daniela and Patrick! All the best and thank you very much for everything.

An absolute recommendation! Especially for children. Lots of tame animals. Very friendly German owners on site. Sauna, WiFi, great hiking routes through the bush, fishing and swimming. Everything is there. Above all, peace and untouched, rustic nature.

We felt very comfortable here, almost at home. The farm is simply fantastic for children, boredom is out of the question! The operators of the campsite, a very lovely family, are warm and helpful with all matters and the animals are all deeply relaxed. There is absolutely nothing negative to say about this great place. We'll definitely see each other again!

Very nice campsite on a family farm. In addition to the essentials (bathroom, fresh water, electricity), they offer horseback riding for children and adults. Daniela and Chiara went horseback riding through the area with me and another woman.

So what can I say? We were already here at Risebo in 2022, and this year we just had to visit Patrick, Daniela, and the others again because the kids and we loved it so much. The kids are out and about all day with the other children, whether fishing or hiking, etc. My eldest helped with the horses and donkeys and also with the pony rides. Patrick and Daniela (the hosts) are so kind and welcoming...the horseback ride with Daniela and my daughter was truly a dream. The kids mostly slept in the stable on hay. A real star is Lukas, the campsite mascot...a horse that grazes freely in the paddock and attracts lots of camera flashes...simply wonderful...where else do you find that? Saying goodbye wasn't easy again...but we'll definitely be back.

Saying goodbye always hurts. We first came as guests and left as friends. The second time, we came as friends, and now, with this final farewell, we're leaving a family. A huge thank you to Daniela & Patrick, who were always there for us campers with help and advice, always ready to listen to everyone. It's an absolute paradise for families with children of all ages. They run the campsite with such passion that you truly feel at ease and it's hard to leave. IT WAS AMAZING!!!! Thank you 😘😘😘😘💝💝💝

A great campsite on a Swedish farm with German operators. Perfect for families - there are horses, donkeys, dogs, cats and rabbits. You can ride or walk with the donkeys. There is a nice bathing lake nearby. If you are looking for relaxation in nature with your family, this is the place for you. You shouldn't be afraid of contact with animals, because the farm dogs - very loving and child-friendly - run around freely here and it's possible that one of the horses at the caravan will come and visit you. The operator family is really nice and always helpful. We think it's great!

A very nice campsite with the option of being self-sufficient or having access to electricity. Toilets, showers, a sauna, a washing machine, and a kitchenette with a stove, oven, and microwave are available. A common room with a ping-pong table is also on site. 😊 Children and adults can participate in farm life, care for and ride the horses, and visit the rabbits and guinea pigs. Lukas, 🐎 the free-roaming horse on the farm, occasionally comes to visit. Our dog was allowed to run free. It was a wonderful time and definitely recommended! 👌 Thank you, Daniela and Patrick, along with your children and Kiara, for the great time with you! ❤️

I haven't felt this relaxed in ages 😍! Daniela, Patrick, and the kids are such a wonderful and friendly family ☺️! Chiara, who was there during our stay and helped Daniela, was also super friendly and always there when you needed help 😁🥰. The pitch is fantastic, with a kitchenette equipped with a sink, oven, stove, microwave, and dining table. There are plenty of toilets and showers (including accessible ones). There's also a sauna and a large common room. Laundry facilities are available, including a dryer. Electricity and water are also provided. The farm is home to animals like horses, donkeys, rabbits, guinea pigs, cats, and dogs. A trampoline, climbing structures, and a barbecue area with plenty of seating are also available. Here you can ride ponies, hike, fish, swim, canoe, kayak, or simply relax 😍☺️ Dogs are allowed to roam freely, and one of the horses also wanders freely around the farm and surrounding area, and with a bit of luck, might even come to the caravan window 🪟🐴 And when your own child is sitting in their car seat with tears in their eyes, and we too drive home with mixed feelings, then you can say it was a wonderful stay at Risebo 🫶🏽✨

Very nice campsite with 10 holiday homes. Very nice German speaking hosts. There is the possibility of horseback riding, there are two donkeys and some rabbits. In the vicinity there are beautiful lakes where you can swim. Great for trips to Berg, Michel, Astrid Lindgren Park or Trollpark.

A wonderful place to stay! The friendly and welcoming owners, with their lovely children and many animals, make you feel like you belong. Pony rides, donkey walks, ice cream, animals, numerous (children's) toys/vehicles, beautiful pitches in stunning natural surroundings and peace and quiet – what more could you want? It's not your average campsite, but a fantastic place to participate, have fun, and unwind. You could easily spend an extended period of time here. You'll want to return to these people and this place. When we come back, I'll bring a new Boomerang ;-) Thank you so much!

A truly beautiful, family-friendly campsite. A large meadow, some pitches with electricity, but self-sufficient camping is also possible. Toilets, showers, laundry facilities, sauna, etc. – everything is available. Children can roam freely and play the numerous games, jump on the trampoline, walk a wonderful circular path, pet rabbits, participate in farm life, or pamper the free-roaming horse with cuddles. It's a bit like Bullerby, and Vimmerby isn't far away either. There are also horses that can be ridden, both large and very small. All the horses are very sweet and child-friendly and are kept in a herd. It's great for children as they can participate in stable work or caring for the horses. The German-speaking owners of the farm take excellent care of their guests. We will definitely be back. Thank you for the wonderful time.
Finally life is back on Risebo!! The new owners are very welcoming, can be reached almost at any time, the sanitary building with sauna is, as in a previous post, a bit old, but everything is super clean! If you are looking for absolute relaxation, this is the right place. There is still work to be done in the next few years (the previous owners didn't bother at all) but the new owners will get there! We will come back 😊
I'm so glad that my favorite spot in Småland is writing a new chapter with the new owners. If you're looking for an ordinary campsite, this isn't the place for you—but if you're seeking peace and quiet, animals, friendly people, and freedom, you absolutely must visit. There's certainly still some work to be done, but I think that with the dedication of the new owners, a true oasis of well-being for both people and animals will emerge in the coming years. See you again!
We stayed there for two nights. Wonderful place and incredibly lovely people. Riding the pony "Jonny" was amazing for our daughter. Thank you and see you next time. Melanie, Lukas with Lara and Anna

5 stars for the experience! We are now staying here for 2 nights with our camper and could have happily stayed a whole week, what a gem! Reservations are not necessary and you can still check on site how long you want to stay. You stood on a large lawn (during our visit only the 4 corners were occupied) and there is a lot of space. Pay at the moment via a Swedish payment system, cash or PayaPal. Sanitary (currently) dated, but functional and that's totally fine for us! What appeals to us: - different from different / natural - great location for (young) children. There are plenty of play options (walking car, go-kart, scooter, bicycles, trampoline), but the animals are the best! Our daughter enjoyed petting / feeding the bunnies, the attention of the friendly dogs and the horses. She will be talking for a long time about petting, brushing and riding Johnny (shetland pony, who you can walk around their amazing grounds) and the other animals for a long time to come. For the elderly there is also the possibility of horseback riding - hiking possible from the site. We walked to a recreational lake with a bathing jetty and a small playground (3.5 km on the way) and saw many deer along the way. You can also enjoy a nice walk on the site itself, including 2 lakes. - the friendly German/Swiss owners have a great place here and have some very cool ideas for the future We really had a great time, thank you very much and good luck!

Risebo was only taken over last year by its new and very welcoming owners. Besides the camping area, the large property also features ten lovely holiday homes. The countryside around Risebo is beautiful, offering opportunities for hiking, cycling, and fishing. Those seeking nature and tranquility will find it here. There are horses, dogs, cats, and guinea pigs that love visitors and cuddles. The service building is quite dated; the previous tenants hadn't maintained it for a long time. However, it is clean! It has one toilet and one shower (plus an additional accessible shower and toilet), a kitchen with a sink, a conference room, laundry facilities, and a sauna. Risebo is a real gem, a dream for families with children, but also ideal for anyone looking for a peaceful campsite.
